LEGO® The Lord of the Rings™ App Reviews

I love this game, great graphics, gaming mechanics, and storyline. However the in-app ads ruined my experience over all the fun it brought to me. When you start game, you see ads, ok I suppose I can handle that. But every time you open the in-game menu you still see ads, which is unacceptable to me. I paid $5 for this game and didnt expect to buy these ads. If I could, I would pay more to remove these ads, but there is no option like this in game. I am giving it 2 stars until they fix this problem.

The scenes are beautifully rendered and the challenges reminiscent of standard LEGO-type games while at the same time making them relevant to the story line. Twice now, as I change play between iPhone and iPad mini, and one on the mini itself, the game saves do not pick up where I left off. I don’t know if this is a Game Center glitch or the game...

Great game over all, the only things that i was not a fan of were the controls, the story missed a lot of crucial elements, and the game went by really really fast. (I beat it in less than 2 days)

Horrible play control. Controls stink. Constant falling into lava because you cant see where the heck youre walking. I couldnt even stomach the begining.

Great app! I love the story and the physics plus it is very entertaining. But one of the main reasons I bought this game was for the variety of characters. There are many characters to play as but they cost SO much! Sauron costs 10,000,000 and I have been playing for a while and only recently breached 1,000,000. I would rate it five stars if you decrease the costs. Thanks.

The orcs where fun but I cant get past the part with a wall of fish bones and I cant even get gollum! I am not playing until you make it easier.

I love this game, but I cannot defeat the Balrog at the end of The Bridge of Khazad-Dum, where Gandalf is on top of the Balrog and they are falling. I have tried many ways of tapping and have come to the conclusion that it is a glitch in the game. Half the time the game does not even register that I tapped so the time runs out and the purple bar fills up again. If this is broken, please fix it! I want to finish this game!

I was loving it til i seen i had to buy character packs, when i buy a game i should have evrything unlocked, that is BS

Some levels almost impossible to clear with touch and jump feature. Not as user-friendly as Lego Star Wars.

Its a good game and I enjoy it. But yall need to do some serious bug fixes!!! Almost every time when I change to another character. The whole game freezes up in transition of going back to the game!

Good; Its a fantastic game that works beautifully on my apple hardware. Bad; Not challenging enough. Id love to have an option to turn off Hearts being dropped. Ugly; didnt work well at all with ether of my Bluetooth remotes I purchased from the Apple Store, however both worked just fine with Lego Stat Wars. Weird right?

Love the videos and great story

I have an ipad mini 2 and I bought this game yesterday and since then i have been trying to download it but it fails to do so. I have tried to pause it and unpause it and even deleting and downloadin again but none of it seems to work. It just gives an error saying that "this game cannot be downloaded". When to point of buying a game when i cant even download it.

PLEASE READ THIS COMMENT. IT WOULD BE AMAZING IF YOU COULD MAKE A LEGO FLASH GAME. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS IN YOUR NEXT GAME.

The game play and the environment is spot on and really brings you back to middle earth. Its been a whole lot of fun! Just be forewarned that 100% completion isnt attainable w/o spending more money in in-app purchases. (doubling the cost of the game itself) Like another reviewer said, youll be grinding away long after youve completed the game just to unlock all of the available characters and extras. Other than that it would get 5 stars. This is still a great game!
